Lazy Days

Ah summer. Lazy days, bright blue skies, and everything green and blooming. Its something that I look forward to every winter and spring, especially around exam time.
I'm spending this summer yet again working on my parents farm. Everyday is filled with the picking, moving, washing, and delivering of lettuce and other greens. It really is great to see how appreciative the chefs in our area are of beautiful greens! I have also been doing the farmer's market in downtown GR. I love it! Not only am I working, but I am interacting with the people in my community. Its fantastic.
I am realizing more and more this summer how very blessed I am. I have an amazing family, a rewarding job, and a supportive and loving boy friend, not to mention all of my other wonderful friends. I am beyond blessed and I am so thankful, especially in this busy season.

Thanks, Pizza Boy!

Today I am thankful for delivery pizza people. They make your pizza AND bring it to you, still hot. Its so wonderful when you and your roomies don't feel like eating the mass produced dining hall food and would much rather have "real" food. It's sad that we consider pizza real food, but when mom's cooking isn't available... well you get the idea. So we ordered pizza today, thanks to my lovely roomie's parents, and sat (not so patiently) waiting for the pizza man to come. Then, out of the blue, a man with a hat and a big red bag the shape of a pizza box comes hurrying up the sidewalk. Day made. So thank you pizza delivery boy, our stomachs are greatly appreciated by your work.

College is crazy. Definitely not what I was expecting, but I think that's the idea. There's so many people, and everyone with their own agendas. I am grateful for little areas were I can tuck myself away and listen to Mumford and Sons and write down some thoughts. Sometimes just to get away from the hustle and bustle of college life and just watch can be a blessing.

Ille Maior Quam Collegium Nactus- He's Bigger Than College Tuition

Fact: I'm a terrible blogger. Fact: There is not enough time in the day for me to do everything I want to do. Blah.
School is going quickly, and even though I am thoroughly excited for summer and college in the fall, I realized last night that I don't think I'm ready. I'm scared. Financially, spiritually, mentally. I was listening to Trace Adkins's song, "You're Gonna Miss This" in bed last night and I thought about what I won't be able to do anymore...and I asked myself, "am I ready for this?" And I honestly don't know. BUT, I know that I can trust God. Fact: He's bigger that college tuition.
He also makes BEAUTIFUL flowers :)

Spring has sprung early this year. I mean, 80's in March? Crazy, but I love it. (Just hoping that it stays nice and we don't have a surprise frost...)

Novus Annus- New Year

New year. New people. New faces. New places.
People make new years resolutions every year, and seldom keep them. I am one of those people. I will eat healthy--'what? mom made cookies?'  I will run everyday--'what if i just skip today..' I will blog everyday...(now there's a new one). This year I wanted to try something different. I will love--yes, even that person. I will forgive--no, don't hold grudges. It's a test, it will be hard. But hopefully this is one resolution that I can keep. And thankfully I have not only people to keep me accountable, but a song.   It constantly reminds me how I need to stay in love.
Take a listen!

Tempus- Time

I wish I had more time. But I guess everyone does, don't they? Time to be spent with the people they love, time to spend by themselves, time to work, time to play. Since I've started spending time on Pinterest, I've been wishing for more. Funny how that works out. I would love to be able to make the things I'm pinning. But I find I don't have the time.
Time is an interesting thing. In the words of the Doctor,

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect,
but actually from a non-linear, non-subjuctive view point- it's more like a
big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff."

Well said Doc, well said. Time is a part of our daily lives, it's what controls what we do and when we do it. The important thing to do with time is know how to manage it. To make time for this and for that.  Time to spend with friends or family, at work or play. So maybe my problem isn't that there's not enough time, but that I'm spending my time on other things.

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

Lorem Iterum- Hello Again

It's been so long since I last blogged. Things are slowing down and I think I now have the time! I am full swing into my senior year of high school. How exciting! Cross country is done forever (hence the picture- @ regionals). We even made our coaches emotional at the end of the year shindig, now that's an accomplishment. I've taken my last ACT. I've figured out where I'm going to college and what I'm majoring in. My stress level is about a 3 (curse you spanish and english homework...) . I think that I will revamp my blog, make it a little more up to date. Christmas break is coming up, more blogging to come..
